Today for the first review of the new year we have a nice limited edition cigar from Oliva. The series V has quickly become one of the most sought after blends from the Oliva family. The stronger flavors and peppery notes that the Series V contains are not present in the O and G series. Then the Maduro comes along. It is a very nice looking cigar with a couple of large veins. The maduro wrapper is dark but not black like some other maduros on the market.
Upon initial light up there are flavors of pepper and spice. While smoking this cigar I noticed the construction was top notch although I did have to touch it up a couple of times. The second third was of more pepper although it started to mellow out into a nice leathery flavor. There was no lack of smoke from this cigar as white clouds were circling above me then briskling blown away by the wind. This cigar was most enjoyable, good thing I have a box! I would recommend this cigar to those who love the Oliva V series but want a slight bit of sweetness added.
I am the Chief Editor of In The Humidor and have been running this site since 2007! I enjoy a great cigar with friends and just hanging around the house. I have 3 beautiful daughters and a wonderful wife, we live in the Dallas, Tx area. I also enjoy a good bourbon, craft beer, and absolutely love the ocean and beach.
