IPCPR 2012 brought us a lot of new and interesting cigars. It has been 4 years since I have attended the show but from what I have heard a lot of good things are on the horizon. One of these is the new offering from General cigar, the Foundry. This cigar was created on the premise of the “steam punk” craze. The weird bronze ring that comes on it is interesting to say the least. It actually fit my ring finger… but anyway. The cigar itself is really made well and the wrapper is of high quality.
The flavor coming off of this cigar is unique; it’s a toasted, leathery, and earthy kinda flavor. Definitely not like anything i have had before. This certainly was a great smoke from start to finish, I am not the biggest general cigar fan unless its a La Gloria Cubana but this is the best smoke they have come out with for awhile. I suggest getting your hands on a few when they hit the stores.
I am the Chief Editor of In The Humidor and have been running this site since 2007! I enjoy a great cigar with friends and just hanging around the house. I have 3 beautiful daughters and a wonderful wife, we live in the Dallas, Tx area. I also enjoy a good bourbon, craft beer, and absolutely love the ocean and beach.
